Sometimes winning is not losing any more. America has been slipping away for decades, seemingly faster and faster. For now it feels as if that slippage has slowed. The freedom-hating democrats are in full retreat. The complicit leftist MSM has been put on-notice. The YouTubz is full of sky screamers, which amuse me to no end. EF Super unleaded is more than a dollar less a gallon than last summer.

Given the current supermajority is lacking the ability to break a fillibuster in the Senate and the congressional margins are thin, plus the side order of rino/political infighting, what, if anything, would make you think think you are "winning."

That is a question that needs to be addressed by someone of Jeffrey Sachs’ caliber, not some senile old white guy on the internet (or the people we presently have in our government).
If I FEEL that I’m not having to think twice about the prices between Product A vs. Product B at my local Publix / Kroger / Acme / Giant Eagle, and FEEL that my equities are secure for the remainder of my life and won’t amount to zilch when I finally bequeath them to my descendants, then we’re winning.
I presently do not have any confidence in or FEEL any security with all of our present policies (rather, shenanigans).
I would not even dare to compare myself to a Chinese citizen that has seen his country lifted out of poverty within the span of his own generation.

True preppers are those who have never bought into or found prepping need because of X____________, it was and has been their life style from the gate. People in this country when it was America, never had to be told to stock XYZ for ABC, it was instilled in them to be self reliant all they lives. People were spurred into action and there was quite a bit of resistance at the local level and especially in the rural areas. Now people have just been lulled back to sleep. At peace because the "anointed one" and that's what they call him, is back in power.

If we get a full-blown crisis, 80-90% of people are dead in the first year. Of the dead, probably 3/4 are fundamentally unhealthy and the other 1/4 are just unlucky (catch a bullet, get sick, etc.). It'd suck pretty hard, but this shouldn't be surprising if you look around the next time you're standing in line at the pharmacy window.
Everyone who gets a hard-on for such an event thinks of themselves as being in the 10-20% of the surviving population. It's good to be optimistic, but most people are in for a harsh reckoning.

I.C.E. has been operating their Alexandria Staging Facility at England Airpark, about 2,000 yards from my shop.
It serves as a major hub for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations, particularly for deportation flights. Almost all of the deportations flying out of here are via four 737 contract birds chartered and crewed by the Geo Group which also supplies the personnel to run the main facility. They have already been really busy.
Tuesday I was coming through the back side of the airpark within sight of that facility. I noticed two C-17s from McChord AFB parked up on the civil air side. No biggie as that is not unusual to see Mil traffic coming through unrelated to ICE. But this afternoon, I saw crew unloading personal gear at both birds like they might be prepping to depart. Again, no biggie.
About an hour later I drive back through to find both C-17s with rear ramps down, several ICE buses, ICE personnel and groups of detainees being deported with their minimal personal belongings. I stopped to take phone pics so I could quiz a couple of buddies that are still connected there.
Here is what I was told.
The Geo Group is continuing to run four 737s with Geo Group contractors running 5 teams, 7 days a week.
In addition (here is where I was happily surprised) Military, ICE personnel and 40 US Air Marshalls TDY are running two C-130s, multiple C-17s and even occasional C-5As if the size of the load and the destination airfield can warrant it.
I had heard varying reports of Yes this was happening as well as reports of No Way are they going to use Mil assets for this job.
Considering the massive numbers of illegals being scooped up and pushed into the system by ICE across the US, there was zero chance the existing contractors could have the band width to move them out of country any time soon. So I am feeling pretty good that additional resources are being brought on line to sustain the push.
Not seeing much if anything about this in the news but they are at least trying to make things happen in spite of all the squealing and crying by the socialist public and the commie officials.
I can confirm that Fed LE will use military aircraft when needed. Also military contracted ships under military control. In my day we used USMC, USAF, USA ships/pilots all the time. Also used SAT contract ships (Southern Air Transport) OCONUS.
I had seen it before but not for this stuff. Lots of task force LEO running drug interdictions via National Guard and Army birds for instance.
Seems to me digging holes or fueling incinerators would be much cheaper than all the related of moving & flying people? Maybe we should start with all those who empowered & allowed this to happen in the first place? In my world shitting on the COTUS is still a crime worth a bullet or rope.

Combine some fuzzy lines between government and private parties (Palantir, Anduril, and a host of "stealth" startups we've not yet heard of) with a bit of 250-year-old wartime powers, mix in some "we can't afford due process because there's too many of them", add a dash of suspending habeas corpus, bake for another three years, and then hand it over to someone like Gavin Newsom. Y'all gonna love the way it tastes.
The world is full of that type, and you even see it here, when you deep think responses to some posts. The bulk of those types are easy reads, & the type that would sell you out for a burger & fries, w/o blinking an eye. In many circles they are called fair weather friends, but in others they are called LIE/s (lead in enemy's).
