When to worry about a sale on the px?

Bought and paid for an item last week. Comms have altogether ceased for 3 days now. The seller has other items for sale. Should I wait another week before I warn others?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask a PX question.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask a PX question.

Did "they" PM you with something like:
"Hey brother consider the item yours, here is my venmo address, once you make the payment be sure to send me a phone number so I can send the tracking number"?

If he said “I’ll have tracking info tomorrow” and it didn’t come through, that would be the first red flag. That you don’t have any comms since paying is a second red flag.

Go back and really scrutinize the correspondence. Scammers are pretty good at spoofing accounts. All it takes is some very subtle punctuation and they have an account that looks legit. Check the name, post count, post history, etc.

Last week was a short week due to Memorial Day.

There could be a legit reason. But, a lack of comms is a red flag.

Thanks - yes he is a supporter and has good feedback.

Good reminder that I have gotten pretty trusting of supporters with good feedback history. I need to be open to asking more of folks while also being open myself to sharing more details when selling.

Thankfully I've been lucky with dealing with the PX. I've promised in the past and have had shit come up. I've always tried to communicate any changes to the plan. Always worked for me.

I don't like being left in the dark though. However as long as you paid with a traceable payment, I'd hold off worrying for now.

It blows my mind that after the legion of posts on this general subject that people still don't take the simple and often cited precaution of having a phone convo (face time even better) with the seller.

Feedback shows @powdahound76 having purchased from him. Perhaps he will weigh in with his experience and any intel he may have on the seller.

You guys don't get it. You looked at the original listing and says it's all good. And the original poster is good. BUT a scammer will copy a user name and add a dot or make an l a 1 and its really hard to spot. So you think you sent payment to IluvsgunsO and instead 1luvguns0 or IluvgunsO got your money. If you want to buy something don't reply in the thread and for the love of God stop with the fucking pm sent shit. They'll know they have a pm no need to announce and no it's not holding you place in line the lister can see when the pm was sent

I actually contacted the seller from the listing, not the other way around. Also confirmed listing username with stated feedback on seller. Bummer if this turns out to be that situation.
When was the last contact? His last post here was Tuesday so probably hasn’t been on since then

There’s some sellers here who are known to be slow shippers. Maybe just the way they are or they coordinate shipping with other items or business needs.

As noted above. If you’re sure you’re speaking with the legit seller then I wouldn’t worry to much yet. The item may be on its way already. If you sent money to a scammer it’s a different story

Also, a lot of people here work offshore and don't have phone/computer access.

Work remote jobs in the middle of nowhere and don't have access.

Work high clearance jobs and are not allowed to use phones, etc

Agreed

I’m personally one where if I tell the buyer I’m shipping tomorrow or a few days later I make sure I stick to that and send tracking info as promised. If I forget about some holiday or something comes up and I can’t ship I make sure I communicate that right away.

On cheaper items I’ll give them a ship date at maybe the end of the week while trying to sell multiple items to save trips to the post office. But I communicate that to the buyer ahead of time. Anything expensive is shipped asap

Communication is key

Last communication was on Wednesday. He replied with an apology and that he would have it shipped within 4 hours. Crossing fingers everything is okay with him. Don’t want to sweat a member if he had a heart attack.

Thats all it takes.

Not too long ago I sold a fairly expensive rifle to a member here. I got it out the next day, then it sat in the OKC post office for over a week without moving (granted there was a bad ice storm). Then it disappeared entirely, I was shitting bricks, but I kept in touch with the buyer everyday, went to the PO at least 3 times. finally, after 2 weeks it made it to him in Houston. The buyer @emrekt888 was a fucking saint, much more patient than I was. But the key was all in that word

Mommunication.
My recent matrix pro II chassis was hung up about 4 hours south of me for over a week. Took about 2 weeks total to get here. But stuff happens

My first AI I bought came out of Ohio. Tracking showed it shipped to Florida then back up to me in Michigan. I was worried for a bit when I saw it go to Tennessee, Georgia then Florida haha
