Looking at stocks for a new build, and many of the manners stocks look very similar online. Anyone know a place in the Dallas area that might have a decent selection of stocks I can actually put my hands on and feel? I know Cabelas, but they don’t really have many guns with manners or McMillan etc. any others?

Hit up a NTX precision rifle club match. Or Alamo Precision Rifles. I have a PRS1 and a KRG bravo that you’re welcome to try out, too.

Yeah I should have gone to the match at triple C back in Dec but didn't have time. Alamo is building a gun for me right now on their Gen2 action. I looked at a couple in their store, but they really didn't have that much on hand. I'm really interested in feeling the difference between the PRS1/2, the A4 A2 A3 etc.. The PRS1/2 look like they would be nice. I'm wondering if manners will be introducing something new at shot show this year as well.

Prs1/2 are the same except the butt hook I believe.

I have a PRS2 and a Foundation Exodus (arriving tommorow). Can get access to a T6A, T5A, T2A, Foundation Genesis, and just about all the populate chassis.

You just gotta drive to Wichita Falls lol.

The March at triple C is in the 26th I believe. I would go out there for sure and get behind everyone’s rifles. That’s the only time most guys let you fondle their bitch lol.

One thing about the grip is your not actually wrapping your fingers around the grip like tradition pistol grips. You really just put your fingers in the front and pull toward the rear.

Yeah I usually just rest my thumb on the right edge (right handed), and they don't feel that bad. The couple that I have seen have been pretty wide all around. I really just want to go down the line and feel them all to see which one I like better lol.

I highly suggest going to a match. Even without a gun if you need to. That's how I put all of my questions to rest. Solved everything about my build.
Shooters are more than happy to let you check their stuff out and talk about it. They will give you real world opinions and reasoning behind their choices, and you get to check out how well their stuff has held up over time too. When I couldnt decide on a chassis, scope and an action, it only took one trip to a local practice match and BOOM. I knew exactly what I wanted, I only wish i had done that a long time ago!
