Where do you measure run-out?

Where on the bullet are you guys measuring run-out?

Obviously if it’s more than zero and off axis, where you measure will influence the reading, and we are going for as small of a reading as possible.

Are you reading close to the neck for a smaller number or out a bit?

This is where I’d normally take a measurement...

As I move out, run-out grows

Where do you read?

I always measure at the end of the bearing surface.

I measure at some point on the ogive.

Near but just behind the ogive.

where the ogive meets the rifling.
