I'm working on putting together a lighter weight hunting/ field course match rifle. I'm going to be running an 18-20 in carbon fiber barrel with a suppressor. I just can't figure out what would be the best action to use. I've look at the defiance xm actions which I like down side to them is that i have to have the stock custom inletted for the action. I'm also looking at the nucleus and the standard tenacity or possibly a bighorn origin. My last choice is a 700 with some action work done to it so it will feed correctly. Would like some feedback on what other people are running.

I went with the Lone Peak TI Medium action so I can run heavy's with no COAL problems. Mine is a hunting rig and also opted for the trap door instead of DBM. Just personal preference. The LP is one nice action, one of the smoothest well performing actions I have owned and have had Surgeon, Stiller and Defiance in the past. Its a little pricey but worth it to me.

Good luck with your build!

I opted for a short action tenacity and a wyatts box. Im running solids in the 130-140 range and have enough space for what I need. Short action to save weight and no custom inlet, plus I had the smith use a shortened freebore reamer.
