Ok, so i'm probably going to be getting a new to me/but used CZ pistol here soon, to be used strictly in my local 2 gun matches, and defensive pistol matches. However, I have zero experience with CZ guns (though I have owned Dan Wesson 1911's), and would like your guys opinions.

    I could get either:
CZ Custom CTS LS-B in 9mm with extra goodies/fully customized from Cajun Gun Works (8000 rds through it)=$1300
    OR
CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Custom 2014 in 9mm (some work done to it by the CZ custom shop, with about 500 rds through it)=$1000
    OR
    a stock CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow in 9mm (about 500 rds through it)=$800

I'd actually be trading a rifle for it, so I wouldn't be paying those cash prices. Those are what they are selling for, and I would actually be getting their pistol + some cash. So, what do you guys think I should get? I know CZ makes great pistols, and a lot of the guys in my local comps run them in matches. Before, I was just running a stock Glock 9mm, and felt very handicapped/disadvantaged when it came to the pistol portion of the match.

    Don't get the CTS.

Hard to say without seeing pics of the other 2 shadows. They may have modifications that could make them illegal for certain competition divisions. However, most 2-gun and defensive pistol matches are pretty relaxed when it comes to equipment rules. So unless you plan on trying out USPSA in the future (highly recommended if you want to really elevate your skills), it probably doesn't matter.

Get the cheaper Shadow if you will enjoy doing some upgrades yourself in the future. If you don't like to tinker, then get the Shadow Custom. This is probably also the better value, especially if it has the Short Reset Kit from CZC (it should). That kit alone is worth almost $200, not to mention all the man hours that go into installing it and polishing everything up.

Thanks for that reply ClangClang. I ended up getting a CZ75-SP01-Shadow that is damn near brand new, and eventually it’ll get some love from Cajun Gun Works. I just got it yesterday and haven’t taken it to the Range yet, but I can definitely see why so many people use these in matches. Between how low the bore sits in the hand, the weight of it, the comfortable (almost 1911ish feeling) grip, the nice light trigger, etc. One of the first things I’ll probably do is try to get the trigger worked on, for less take up, a crisper/shorter reset, maybe swap out some springs, etc. But that’s just me already thinking of all the things I’ll be tinkering with on it. Of course I’m gonna go shoot the hell out of it first though....?

The shadow 2 is the latest fad, and for good reason. I have shot them. They are amazing. Definitey worth the money.

Yeah, they do seem like a hell of a pistol. Between that or the Accushadow, I’m already thinking of stuff to sell so I can snag one up! I definitely get why CZ has such a loyal following now.

CZ Shadow is nice I have one of the very few Oranges that were imported back in 2016.

Any of the SP-01 Shadows. Great guns, and the fact that the price has come down some after the introduction of the Shadow 2 certainly doesn't hurt

I had an opportunity to handle both a custom shop SP-01 and a SP-02 the other day. They are both excellent choices and have been added to my rather long list of someday pistols. The SP-02 is much heavier and I was cautioned that it does not meet the weight limits for many of the competition equipment rules. Personally, I like the feel of the custom shop SP-01 better, but am told that the extra weight of the SP-02 makes double taps almost too easy.
