Hi everybody! I just bought savage 10 fcp with hs-precision stock and now I'm lookin base and rings for it.
I think I buy farrel base and maybe rings too from opticswarehouse cause they can deliver to finland...
But which base is the best for my rifle? http://opticswarehouse.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=FarrellSavageBases

I dont know/understand which action I have to choose for my rifle???

Sorry for my lousy writing

I have the Farrel base and rings. If your Savage has the Accu-trigger. (the trigger with the safety in the middle of it) you have the round top receiver. If you have an older model like mine with a regular trigger, that is a flat top receiver. The Farrel base is very high so the size of your scope bell will determine what Farrel rings to get. What scope are you getting? You don't need the G-Force.

Here is Ken's website. He is a very nice man and was a huge help to me on the phone. His wife is very helpful too. http://www.kenfarrell.com/

BTW, welcome to the forum. You might want to fill out your personal profile for us.

Yes It has accutrigger, so any of those round actions will work? Whats the difference between LA and SA action?

I am buying bushnell elite 6500 4.5-30x50md scope and I'm going to shoot 300m - 600m ranges mostly

Re: which farrel bases to my savage 10 fcp?

Round top, short action. Go with the 15 or 20 moa base it appears (from a website) the Bushy 6500 has 90 inches of travel.

Here is the one: http://www.kenfarrell.com/SAV-RTS-1-15.html

With a 50mm bell, you will probaly want the standard rings: http://www.kenfarrell.com/0030MM-STD.html I have a 0 MOA base. I am unsure of how the 15 MOA or 20 MOA base affects the front scope clearance. But looking at mine, I think the standard rings are the way to go.

Here is mine with a 56mm Nightforce. I got the matched rings but after seeing Ken's work I think it is unnecessary. I would just get the standard grade.

Thanks a lot shankster! Of course la means long action etc, I just didn't get it first

language barrier... so I get a 20MOA base for the SA round action

My friend could sell me burris xtr 30mm rings affordably but I dont know are they good as farrels, I dont think so?

Correct. What caliber is your rifle?

A lot of guys use and like the Burris XTR rings. If they are the right heighth, they would work fine for a .308. The Farrells are really strong.

With the 20 MOA base and the Bushnell 6500, you will be able to shoot your Savage .308 to 1,000 yards.
