Looking for info on using (or not using) Loctite for mounting a RMR on a handgun. What do you think is the proper "number" not just color, as in "red" or "green". Thanks

I have allways used the Blue 242 for all small fasteners on my firearms and things that want to be removable without needing heat to remove.
Even more critical is if they will be threaded into aluminum, permanent threadlocker doesnt allways play nice with aluminum.

Thanks for the info. Having no experience what so ever in this area, this has turned into an interesting paradox for me. STI included some Loctite 262 with a pistol I bought. Dawson Precision recommends it for this application. I would consider these people experts in this area. But yet, in my mind I'm thinking it may be too "permanent". So my logic is to start with something not as strong and work up. I guess...lol

All of my guns get number 222 purple Loctite. Even it can be aggressive if you use too much on small screws.
