I've narrowed my search to the two sets below.

Redding Type S Match Bushing 3-Die Neck Sizer Set 308 Winchester

Redding Competition Bushing 3-Die Neck Sizer Set 308 Winchester

Other than materials which the S & competition bushings are made, whats the difference in the two sets? Is it possible to full length size with both of these as well? I'm new to rifle reloading but, plan to get into F class next spring & matches locally. I plan to set up either my Dillon 550 or my 650 (most likely the 550). Any suggestions on what other dies might work better? I have a stock Remington 5R mil-spec that loves the Federal Gold match (168 & 175) and the Hornady 168 TAP.

Best regards,

Paul

Re: Which Redding die set

I'm not sure which is which, but I'll tell you what I want. I currently decap, bump the shoulder, and neck size. Each of those is a separate operation. I'm just now looking for a single die that will do all three operations with no expander ball. I think it's this.

If this proves to be what I want, it will seriously cut down how many time I have to pull the handle.

The difference in the 2 you listed is of course the neck sizer. One has a micrometer on it. But if you are not dead set on neck sizing you might want to look at this set. It is very popular.

This is what I use and the same one Tim linked to. Some of the others can chime in on why to FL size every time.

don't know about the Type S but the Competition dies are the mutts nuts.

Others that work better? Others work as well but it is hard to be much better?

Excellent technical support/advice from the team Redding as well which makes me a big fan
