i want a cut cost for a 600+ yrd range scope. i was going to go with a vx 2 or 3 from leupold. But if i could spend 2 to 300 for a smilar scope let me know.

While not mutually exclusive, that is difficult.
I have a Millet TRS-1. I am very pleased with it, others, not so much. Easily has enough elevation to get out to 1000 yards. Spotty QC.
Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14, but you will need a 20 MOA base (EGW about 45 bucks from Midway)
Super Sniper 10x.
Mueller Tac-2. I have one of these also. Excellent glass for the price and a surprising amount of elevation adjustment. more thna enough to get you to 1000 yards without an angled base all in a one inch tube.
Konus M-30 series seems to get good reviews.
Next up the line is the Falcon Menace, a little bit more expensive, but well liked.
