Looking to put a scope on a Savage TR 22lr. Considering either the Mueller 4.5-14x40 APT or the Bushnell Elite 3200 10x. Any suggestions on which one I should go with? Gun will mainly be used for target shooting out to 200.

Re: Which scope?

Forgot to mention, I did a search and have read about 100+ posts on the topic of rimfire scopes. Just trying to figure out if the Bushnell is the better bang for the buck and if I could live with the set paralax issue.

Can you still use that scope at 50 yards?

Re: Which scope?

You can see fine at 50yds, but with munchkin 22 targets, the parallax error will haunt you. I've misplaced the formula, but recall says you'll be pushing 1/4" error potential (and almost 1/2" at a common 50ft indoor range).

If you run the APT, set the mag at 9x so the mil scales at 4.0 (3.6x9=4) and your clicks match the reticle.

Re: Which scope?

Any chance you could explain the setting of the scope on 9x a little more. I belive I know what you mean but can't seem to get my head around it.

Do you mean my adjustments would remain 1/4" but would be 1/4 of the mill while looking though the scope????
