Which scope and why? To shoot mid to about 1200 yards. In 223 and 308. I like shooting at 100 200 300 but also like going to 1200 when I can. Upper mag around 25 or so and the low what ever.

Frank what is your most go to scope and why? There is so many great scopes out there it some times is hard to pick one. This is the reason for this question to try and help some of the new guys and me.

We all get caught up in the hipe of this scope now and then someone comes and changes it to another one. Looking for a scope that is good tough and repeatable if it is the most expensive one or the cheapest one. One that works time and time again.

I have ran a NF 8-32x56 out to 1000yrds from ay .308 and My cheap bushnell 3-9x32 also provide adequate clarity at 800 yards.

They are both great scope but the NF is best when you are shooting under extreme weather conditions.

If you're spending over $3000 i'd just go ahead and skip the rest and get ZCO. This is coming from a Kahles owner who likes them alot but they're not without fault. Other than locking turrets (personal preference) idk at this point that there is a fault with ZCO. Reticle is great, glass is pretty much considered to be Minox/TT good which is as good as it currently gets.

Am looking at the ZCO and NF. I had one of the very first ATACR and it had growing pains. Sent it back they repaired it then I sold it. I haven't look at the new ATACR. I loved the NXS scope but went to FFP. I need to get out and look at the NF scopes again I know I will like them. Impressed with the Kahles 5-25 and I have an older S&B PMII 5-25 in MOA. Switching to MIL/MIL.

The kahles 525 is nice it just has some short comings that really keep it from being what we had hoped. Biggest complaint i have is the FOV is small and the DOF is shallow. Though the K624i had shallow DOF as well. Also loses a bit of resolution at max mag but that's never been a huge issue for me. 15-20x it is extremely nice. I like NF but have never really put the ATACR in the same category as TT, ZP5, ZCO, or the K525i. Gen II razor, ATACR, Kahles k624i, are all very comparable to me in IQ. I know others will vehemently disagree with that statement but that's just my eyes.

For me right now given the market, outside of stepping up and buying TT i'd go ZCO or would save money and pick up an AMG, Gen II razor, Mark 5, or XRS II.

I had a AMG but the erector hinge came loose. They repaired it with no problem. I really like the Gen II and now they have the center dot may be looking at them again. Really like the center dot reticles.

    Kinda funny
When I first came to this site it would be a S-B 5x25.

    OP.
If I had a lot of money to blow on a scope the ZCO seems like a safe bet.
I really like their reticles as well.

Tough, repeatable.... The XTR2's fit that description. It works time and time again.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my S&B and it is on one of my rifles. I just can't afford a new one in the power range I would like to have. I have USO B25 as well as others. I am looking to upgrade to a scope as the newer ones have so many new features and advancements in the way they are assembled. If you look at the first Kahles and the ones made today you see a vast improvement. All of my scopes are older not that they are bad just technology has advanced and with advancement you can have a better scope. Not always but that is the reason for the question. I can not afford to go out and buy every scope, wish I could, to test that is where I depend on the vast knowledge of everyone on the hide.

I have looked at the new M7 MSR 2. I had one of the first T5 and was so disappointed. Never looked thru the M5 or 7 and was just wondering how much difference there is between the two. I loved the glass on the T5 but the turret was the problem.

While the T5Xi glass seems decent, it’s an immediate difference when looking through the M5Xi/M7Xi. The M7Xi is a league above the M5Xi in the glass department and two leagues above the T5Xi in every way.
