Going to build a new 300 win mag. I am not familiar with every brand that is out there and would like some input. Gun will be used for long range target shooting. I need it to feed Berger VLD from a mag.
Which sub $1000 long action best for a new build

I'm considering the same thing at the moment. If the bighorn origin doesnt start coming in long action I will probably go kelbly atlas tactical.
Here's me other thought though. Long action calibers aren't cheap. Components aren't cheap. Barrels aren't cheap.
Does it make much of a difference to go from a $1000 nucleus to a $1250 TL3?
I can't wait to get my Nucleus together, tomorrow is the day.
Beside some light primer strikes that might just be bolts packed with grease or improper triggers, I have heard nothing bad so far about the Nucleus.
That reflects mostly short actions but I don't think long actions would be any different.
I'm not sure what features a TL3 might have over a Nucleus but I don't think the Nucleus is lacking too much, in a way I think it has more features than Mausingfield.
