I jus bought another buckmark pistol and a trail lite threaded barrel with the sole intention of suppressing it. Should i buy a dedicated can for just it or get a 308 can and use it on my 308 and AR too? If not, which 22 can should I get?

Re: Which suppressor for buckmark pistol?

I have a Buckmark, A Ruger MKII, a Ruger 10/22 pocket rifle SBR and a Ruger 96/22 that I run an SWR Spectre on and it's awesome. I do want(and will get) a Liberty Kodiak TL for my next .22 suppressor.

Re: Which suppressor for buckmark pistol?

I've shot the 22Sparrow that a buddy recently purchased and I will be getting one. It's nice and light and its a breeze to clean. I shot it next to an aac element and the sound is pretty similar. Thing thing with the mite is that it seizes pretty easily meaning that you would have to send it back to aac to have it cleaned.

Re: Which suppressor for buckmark pistol?

I shoot a Checkmate QD on my Ruger MKII pistol. The suppressed pistol is very accurate, quiet, and the snap on mounting is fast and handy.

There are a multitude of acceptably performing rimfire products so your choice will have to weigh what features are most important to you.

To choose between rimfire and .30cal is a hard choice to make as they are two totally unrelated categories. I think the rimfire can first is a good idea, but if you decide to do a 30cal, we have a good deal in the form of our pre-order RSTA suppressor that you can read about by clicking the banner ad below.

Re: Which suppressor for buckmark pistol?

obviously i have one Griffinarmament checkmate... with the QD feature.

I have about 7 or 8 22's. 22lr pistols, 22lr semi rifles, bolts, 22 mags, and 17hmr's.

I have our Qd mounts on everything and just snap the can on from one to the next.

It has minimal POI shift as well... surprisingly.

I was going to just use our thread mount but I took my cz452v to the range and with the QD I was still hitting the little 1/5th scale small bore Ram steel targets out to 100 with no noticeable change in POI. (the day was windy as well)

I will probably go out on a still day with paper and actually get some more scientific results... but for that day i was impressed.

Re: Which suppressor for buckmark pistol?

I like the Buckmark as a host. It's much cleaner than the Ruger MK whatevers, so much crap accumulates in their chambers. T/C Contender get most of my love for .22, clean and quiet.

Get the case deflector for the Buckmark. Cases mostly go under it and arn't deflected but it will keep alot of blowback off any optic you mount.

I have three .22 cans. Liberty Kodiak is built like a tank. Silencer Co SS Sparrow is well thought out and easy to clean, it's my fave. Thompson Machine is the hardest to get apart so I shoot it the least.

I would never shoot .22 through a can that couldn't be taken apart for cleaning.

Re: Which suppressor for buckmark pistol?

We have both an SWR Spectre and a SilencerCo Stainless Sparrow.
My Boys and I run them on a Ruger MKII with the Pac-Lite barrel, Ruger 22/45 (new model with threaded barrel), Sig 522, and Ruger 10_22 with 18" bull barrel.

The Sparrow has a pretty loud first round pop then all is quiet. It doesn't matter which gun we run it on, it is the same even using CCI Standard velocity.

The Spectre has no first round pop and has a much more muted tone that the Sparrow.

As others have mentioned, yes the Sparrow is light and easy to take apart and clean, but I don't have nay problems with taking apart our Spectre using the provided push tool.

My first pick of the two that we have is the Spectre!

Re: Which suppressor for buckmark pistol?

You will not like shooting a 308 can on a Buckmark.

Any 308 can on the market will be too heavy and too large of diameter to enjoy on a 22lr handgun.

Since you bought the trail lite barrel, is there any reason you aren't considering one of Tactical Solutions rimfire cans?

The beauty of the Sparrow is that you can use it on bigger calibers then 22LR. But for pure sound reduction, the Pilot 2 is quieter then the SS Sparrow, Spectre and AAC's top of the line Element. The others can be shot with other calibers and in full auto. Haven't had the chance yet to test out the Pilot 2 in full auto... and we probably won't since we destroy enough cans and AAC is probably sick and tired of fixing our suppressors!

Re: Which suppressor for buckmark pistol?

I have a buckmark with an element and I also have a pilot. I would reomend the element or the spectre. Buckmarks are awesome. with the 4" barell, regular ammo is subsonic and its really quiet, like the action is most of the noise. really cool. I have a 10/22 with the SBX barrell and its actualy more fun than the buckark, just because of the rifle accuracy with the scope.

Re: Which suppressor for buckmark pistol?

i have a similar Ruger MKII and use a SWR Specter and LOVE it. It is full auto capable, works on 5.7mm and others, tough as nails, great warranty, you can take it apart to clean it and best of all it is STUPID quiet. Only downfall is it is HEAVY.

I have a pair of them (Spectre's) and in light of their construction, it's not like I'm going to be wearing them out any time soon so I'm glad they work well for me.

Re: Which suppressor for buckmark pistol?

A little off topic, but maybe you guys could answer a question for me.

I have a buckmark and ever since I bought it, I have wondered how hard it would be to get an integrated barrel suppressor instead of having the added length to the barrel. Mite be just a dumb ass question, or have you guys seen this done, or know of anyone doing it?

Thanks.
