I'm about to get my .243 rem700 cut and threaded.

Which thread pitch should I use?

I'd like to have a flash hider on it for a while, until I can figure out a suppressor to put on it. I think I'll just go with a .30 cal suppressor.

Opinions?

the most common thread for 30 cal is 5/8 24 tpi so that will give you the most options.

What is your barrel diameter?

that doesn't leave you with much of a shoulder for a muzzle device to tighten against. 5/8-24 has a .625" major diameter.

Re: Which thread pitch to choose?

Listen to hired gun. I used 1/2-28 like the ar-15 comps cpme threaded as and it worked out well on a .243 for me as I made the brake myself and contoured it to match.
