So, im currently shooting a Rem 700 Tac with a 16.5" barrel that is completely stock and a Savage 10BA Stealth thats bone stock as well. Ive only pushed them out to 800 so far. Oh, both are 308 and im shooting the Alco 168s. I want to customize one of them, which one would you choose?

I would find a better chassis for the R700 and grab a supressor. Then purchase a good reliable scope and rings. Keep the reciever and barrel stock and keep the trigger.

Then take the rest of your money and buy ammo and go to training class.

No interest in suppressors. I just bought a leupold Mark V so good there. Ill look at Chassis, its wearing a Magpul stock currently.

May i ask why no suppressor?

What rings are you using for the MK5?

And which magpul stock do you have on it?

And also a good bipod will help, atlas cal is a rock solid choice.

When you say customize... are you talking action work, new barrel, trigger, stock/chassis?

or... new bolt knob, bipod, rail, stock pack, two round holder, spray paint?

I just have never had a need for one or a desire to pay the stamp fee.

Mount is a Warne 20MOA but i also ordered a set of NF rings. Im still shopping bipods.

Im looking at Chassis and longer barrel. I think id like to go to a 20".
Tons of chassis options for the 700 and quite a few for the savage.
You can do a barrel nut setup on both and that can be a cost effective and convenient option.

Here is my savage, basic moderate cost rifle that shoots amazing, when I kill a barrel I just screw in a new one.

Trigger options definitely go to the 700 though.
Even though I show a savage I’d still recommend a 700 because of options and future adaptability .

Say one day you want a custom action, you can just plop it into the 700 chassis, that ain’t happening with the savage.
