Anybody got up close and personal to one? Looks good and the price is reasonable.

Re: Whidden Composite stocks

I got to coon finger one of each model recently. Just the stocks but seemed to be pretty good designs. They both felt real comfortable, finish was excellent and they felt like they would be just about bullet-proof. The model shown above (140 I believe) weighed about 3 1/2 lbs.

I was able to shoot and fondle a new prototype John is offering. A butthook design. Very comfortable.John has his own adjustable cheek piece hardware now. Have a look. This is a non adjustable one.

You can bet if John is involved in making it, it will be quality. I don't see the new butthook design stock on the website yet.

Rob, any chance of a photo of the butt of the stock you've shown? Has the stock in the photo been painted that colour, or is that just the colour of the composite, which looks kind of stippled?

That is the epoxy coating he is using on all of his stocks. He has color samples on the website. Those are the only pictures I have. He is past due to have the website updated, but they have been very busy adding on to the shop. These stocks are now available for sale. I do not know the pricing. Give them a call.
