I decided to make a knife as a wedding gift for a very good friend... this is my first time to attempt any kind of upholstery. Despite a few spots of epoxy seeping through (I assume there is better glue for this purpose?), it turned out half way decent.
The blade is ground from Japanese surgical stainless steel and acid etched. I have never worked with steel like this before and broke 3 drill bits before switching to a die grinder to enlarge the pin holes.
My cell phone camera doesn't do the knife scales justice (except the dust that settled on it for the picture).
