A friend of mine has a Savage 110 he's looking to re barrel from a sporter to a varmint contour. Who is our go to guy to buy a barrel from? If this goes as smooth as I think it is, I may have to rethink the Savage vs Remington battle I have in my head. lol Thanks.

I've had good luck with Jim Briggs @ Northland Shooting Supply

Thanks, is swapping a barrel on a Savage as easy as seems to going to be?

Re: Who is the Hide's Savage barrel goto guy

Yup. Headspace gauges, barrel nut wrench and a barrel vise. I have a 22-250AI barrel and a 6.5x47 barrel for my Savage 10. I usually shoot whichever round until I'm bored with it then swap em. Usually around once a year.

Yes, Jim Briggs @ NSS is the best resource for Savage barrels. I have a Shilen .308 barrel, and a CBI .260 barrel in my rifles.

Great service, but he can be hard to reach by phone.

Kevin at stockade stocks is working with Benchmark blanks. Supposedly they are the cats ass! That's where I will be going for my next barrel.
