Yeah Im color blind also. Have problems with the red/orange, green/brown/black. I was 18 or 19 before I even knew a UPS truck was Brown always thought they were Green, Always wonder why they were call Buster Browns LOL. I do get the what color is that test all the time when they find out! I am getting better at the colors by noticing the shade difference. Suck being an electrician and not having number code on the wire's. Have burnt up stuff and been shocked a few time cause I screwed it up! Thank goodness for PPE

Same thing happens with me, I get all sorts of colors screwed up. The wife picks on me all the time especially when I am wearing different colored socks, or when I went shopping for new button up work shirts and came back with all pink ones, should have known something was wrong when the girl behind the counter said she loves this color, are they for a special occasion?, silly me I thought she was just flirting. But I have great eye-sight besides for being color blind, so when I am readings street signs way before the wife can see them thats when I get my payback

Red/green here. Two of my brothers as well! Even so, I can see red and green, especially when the lighting is good. Intermediate shades get tough, especially in poor light.
BTW, One of my brothers, working for Motorola in the 90s, caused the phone system in Maracaibo, Venezuela to collapse because of a wiring "Mishap" back in 1997!
The color blindness issue has caused me some problems. My insurance rates are higher, I was limited in career choices and teachers punished me because I didn't learn "my colors"!
I also have two different color eyes; I use it as an excuse to get pretty women to get very close to me!

I work in the telecommunications field, alot more colors than electrical
. The old man use to work for Verizon years ago and they did a study on how many field techs were actually color blind. I believe it was well over half back then. One of the guys he worked with was color blind. I think it was blue and brown or green he always confused. Dad would always have to figure those two out for him. He had the ugliest colored orange Corvette for years and didn't know the real color until it got trashed in the floods in '96. The adjuster told him they found his orange Corvette down river and he said you must be mistaken, mines a cool red one
. He did come in handy during hunting season though. We used to test our camo with him before we went after deer

When I take the Ishihara(sp) dot test I see numbers that are not there and can not see the ones that are suppossed to be, even when they trace them out. They eventually hold up a red, yellow and blue piece of paper and I get those right. Can not match colors to save my life so I have a very simple wardrobe for work. People always ask "What color is that?" I tell them it has looked that way all my life so I do not know any different and do not give a shit anyway.

Had no idea until I wanted to go to Warranty Officer Flight School when joining the Army.
Had to be a SIGINT guy instead, apparently that doesn't require me to know what color I am looking at!

I am not completely color blind, only half I guess. When I went to MEPS I could only read about half of the circles. Thankfully I only needed vivid red green to pass. Then they 3P'd me for having LASIK. It took a while but I finally got a waver for it. They're pretty strict on some of their vision stuff. Up until MEPS I thought my color vision was perfect...
