I'm bout to cut a 22br, 27" 7tw barrel, but my smith just acquired a 22gt reamer. I already have 6gt bushing dies. I'm looking to hear performance with heavier bullets 85-95gr? I'd probably run 90gr atips w/ rl16,H4350 or 4451. If I can get away with a slower/cooler burning powder that'll be a possibility too.

Think I'll do a 22 GT next. Just need to pick an action and stock first. Hopefully, some who already have them will chime in here :)

Got a brand new Nuclues 2.0 sitting in a Bravo............

Waiting on my PVA "black friday" Osprey Blank 1-7 Twist 22" MTU contour.

Got 300 pieces of Alpha brass, .249" wilson bushing, Wilson bushing FL 6GT die waiting on barrel.

I plan on running 88gr ELDm with Staball 6.5

Other than that, I'm new to the GT, so I'm no help............

This post is pretty much useless to you...........:)

I have 2. Both running about 35 grains of h4350. Both are ragged holers. 24”-85 bergers to 3175, 26”-95 smk to 3100, cci 450s, under mild to medium pressure. My 22 BR was just as accurate, running cfe 223, but about 100-150 less fps with the 85s with equal pressure. I was unsure about Alpha brass, being a Peterson man. I fired a necked 6gt case 7x without annealing, punched a nice hole at 100 yards, primer pockets were still tight, and ES was single digit.

I’ll add to my last post. I think the reamer has about a 90-100 freebore. This is great for the 85.5, and you can run them short enough to use a br mag. I might have my next one throated out about 050 to get some more speed out of the 88-95.

I appreciate that data! My smith's reamer is throated for 90 atips. Unsure on fb but I believe it's close to 170k. I've found bergers shoot well 70-120k off lands in my long throat 6gt. So I'm not fearing jump. I'll be using a bighorn origin and arc mags, hopefully no feed issues. I have a few aics pmags and mdt w/ binder to try if there are problems. My 6gt from a nucleus w/ arc mags has ran flawless for 1400 rounds this past season. Once again, thanks for your information!

Have you tried any other powders than H4350? Do you know the case capacity in water on a scale? I'm going to build the case in my GRT program and see what it predicts for speeds. My 6gt load is 36.6gr H4350 from a 28" bartlein pushing 109 LRHT @ 2910fps.

Ha. I’m on month 6 or 7 for my OBW 22BR.

That's encouraging. What's the fuggin hold up? Diamond cerakote....

I take it the advertised 4-6 week lead time was complete bullshit.
There have been several here claim they have received their PVA black Friday pre-fits already....??

Shooting atips and 88eldms out of mine. 22” barrel and the 88 eldm’s are running an easy 3040fps. So far very happy with it and the eldms seem to do well on coyotes!! Using rl26 right now. My chamber was cut with an Alpha reamer and is perfect for the long heavies

My understanding is if it is a low demand caliber the 4-6 week lead time does not apply. If I hadn't already purchased BR brass and SAC Modular BR die I would cancel the order.

Been running it for a year. 26" Kreiger 6.5tw. Alpha 22GT reamer. Throated for 90gr ATips off a dummy round but I've been running 95gr SMK's. Necked down and turned 1st run alpha 6GT brass. Have two loads. One for comps at 3160fps and one for a "max" at 3260fps using h4350. She's a fuckin hammer.

About how many grains and round count?..now I wanna throat the barrel...
Match load is 36.2gr. Obviously work up as barrels and rifles differ. I have probably 400-500 on it currently.

Too fast, I am gonna run super slow 308 in February lol

36.2gr H4350 @ 3160 is the exact barrel node #3.5, it predicts 67k psi at this load lol, I doubt its that high. Are you using a 218 or 219 bore Krieger? My hawkhill is 219. I had a tight bore 236 vs 237 Krieger 6gt last year, shot absolutely great for first 700 rounds but once the barrel got some character its pressured WAY up.

You can shoot that fast 22 GT at Pikes Peak
That's the plan lol for pikes peak. Shot it at the Cheyenne match twice. Performed great. Me on the other hand, another story 😂 I'll have my AX in the AO chassis by then too

218 bore. My higher speed load wasn't showing signs of pressure, I just stopped there as I don't need to to run it that hard. Save a little life in my barrel lol I just picked 36.2 as 3160 was plenty fast enough and after a quick seating depth test, proved to be boringly accurate

Damn a 95smk @ 3160 has a stupid flat trajectory.......now I just need to find a bunch! Ordered 500x pcs brass yesterday. @Krob95 how far off lands are you? Ive found 107/142smk like to be from 5k jam to 20k jump.

Yeah. I'm 5.7ish Mils to 1000yards. Bucks the wind like no other.

If you find 95's let me know, I could use another 1000 lol

FYI for anyone wondering about Patriot Valley Arms Black Friday (Pre-fit barrel sale)
My Black Friday SALE.......... PVA Prefit for Nucleus shipped today!!! I ordered it on Monday after Black Friday.
22 GT chambering..............................23" MTU Osprey Blank 1-7 Twist

I picked up a Wilson FL Bushing 6 GT die and a Wilson .249 bushing.
I already have a Hornady 22-250 seating die with micrometer top that I'll use for seating.

I got 300 pieces of Alpha 22 GT brass

I was looking at the Wilson just didn't know if anyone made a dedicated die yet. Alpha is what I'm using too. what bullet do you plan on running? I just picked up some 88g eld's to start with.

I’m running an 18 inch 22gt 90 grain Atip at 2980 using 39.8 of rl26 jumping .030. Same load with 88 eldm is 3050. Might play with some 4350 when I run out of 26.
I find the velocity differences between the two projectiles odd, in my 26" 7tw, the same charge of H4350 is only 15-20fps apart w/ 88s vs 90s.

Yeah I thought it was a decent jump too. I didn’t do any development around 88 I just took my Atip load and ran the eldm’s since the atips are hard to find. Only thing I can think is less bearing surface on 88 vs 90. Really haven’t dug into it too much.

how have the 88's been running for you guys? do you see a huge improvement going with the a tips?

Very interested in a 22gt as I have a bit of H4350 and currently run a 6gt. Any suggestions on a location to get a barrel?

Here's my data, broke the rifle in with 100 rounds of 88eldm 34.5gr H4350. Then shot a ladder with 90 atips. 3085-3110 had like an inch of vert at 500y. Loades up at 3100fps 20k off lands was 3 shots touching at 300y. Prob easiest load development ever.
Bighorn origin
Hawkhill 7tw 219 bore hvy varm @ 26"
Gen3 fat bastard
Arc Xylo chassis
Gen3 razor 6-36x56

22inch bartlein carbon 1-8

Atip is running 2950 with 38.4 rl26
Eldm is running 3030 with 39.4 rl26

Two shots each at 980yds

Small plate is 10” for reference

For cost and availability of bullets I’m sticking with the eldms.

How does this case compared to the CM in terms of case capacity? Can I just look at the 6.5 or 6 cal cases and go off of that or is it going to vary much when going down to 22 cal?

I've been really wanting a 22 dasher for a long time but don't like the idea of fireforming and I also don't think I'll get the performance I'm looking for out of a shortish barrel. That's why I'm now looking into 22gt!

My alpha 22gt fired case held 44.9gr of water on my scale, lapua 22cm holds 51.4gr 13% more powder for roughly 7% more velocity.
