Maybe Karma has a plan? Fill the state with rich liberals. Then redistribute all that wealth into the Pacific Ocean with one small Quake.

Bubbles always burst, it's only the timeline you don't know until afterward.
Wish there was a way I could short CA real estate.:) That's bound to be a money maker.

In reality though, if you're in CA and 62+, you could short it using a reverse mortgage.

Mother nature has a way f evening things out.

I hear a greenback goes a long ways in Venezuela and it's already achieved communist utopia status. Other than not having human shit an drug needles everywhere on the sidewalk, it would be just like a more affordable CA.

Yeah... socialists will leave California and bring all their “ideas” with them

This is worth a watch.... Silicon Valley Real Estate

They come to Boulder and find it it's almost as expensive. Then drive up prices everywhere else along the front range.

A long time friend of the family recently sold her 'shack' in Boulder for $800,000+.

This "San Francisco" town house was originally owned by my mother. She was given the downpayment by her boss, the builder/developer, as a bonus.

IIRC she paid $40K in 78'/79'. $1.2 million. It's a two bedroom townhouse w/ a rentable apartment in the basement. It's pretty much the same as when we left except for the exposed brick and updating.

Starting to see the same thing here in San Diego. :( Pretty sad, but also don't think setting price restrictions on housing is a good answer either.

Bullshit, California is a utopia to be envied by all other states. High housing costs is just a sign that everyone wants to be there, and there is no reason whatsoever to leave, under any circumstances. If housing is unavailable, they should tax the rich more and use it to provide better housing for the middle and lower classes, it's their obligation as a caring citizen to provide for the basic needs of their fellow people. If they pay people more in welfare, they won't have all those other problems. I wish them all the best.

We have bottom barrel housing costs here because it sucks so bad, and everybody is armed and voted for Trump. And we also have one of the lowest tax burdens because we don't care about our fellow man, especially if they're not a citizen. That's right, fellow MAN and citizens only, because we're all misogynists as well as being racist. Deplorable doesn't even begin to describe it. Californians definitely do NOT want to be here.

That's a saved link in your a/c. Got one to share with others?

The socialist entitlement mentality in California (especially the Bay Area where I live) is truly out of control. Sentiments that everyone "has a right" to anything drives me crazy. As soon as someone has a "right" to something that has an economic impact on someone else you have created an economy of de-facto slavery. This generally manifests itself through ever increasing taxes and laws at that stifle property owners.

I honestly believe that the minds of kids are poisoned by the school system who glorify "victims."

As soon as my daughters are out of school, I am sooo moving out of California. I hope the housing market doesn't crash until then so I can cash out by selling my house :) My post-California dream home will have a back porch shooting range with no risk of annoying neighbors.

If there was a “Big” quake in California.... it would be interesting to see if the recession it caused would impact the US or the world.

California was the 5th biggest economy of measured as a country around 1990.... it is now the 7th largest

If California stopped paying interest on municipal debt
If California stopped paying tax for 1 year to the federal redistribution system

If California’s 40,000,000 people needed aid or moved to your state.... things could seem strange for a while

But the bottom would fall out of the sex trade in Vegas. California refugees would be killin' it. $5 buffets? Yeah, right.

Alabama is too back woods, for left coast types, which is good, However we keep extra stuff around just in case that element tries to move in. If Ca. were to get hit by the big one I doubt it would be missed at all here. The B/S about the economy taking a hit is true, but only if you live in China.
Ca would not be missed in most of the US, but your free to prove us wrong. Seems to me the hole is eating it's self with division, anything we can do to help speed it up?

Perhaps the most cited figure comes from the Tax Foundation, a conservative group that found Californians got back about 78 cents in services per federal tax dollar paid in 2005.

Researchers at the Pew Charitable Trusts crunched the numbers for the 2014 fiscal year and found that California ranked 41st in per capita federal spending among the states.

Alabama

Alabama is 4th most federally dependent state

https://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2017/03/alabama_is_4th_most_federally.html

Only three states were more dependent on the federal government than Alabama: Kentucky (first); Mississippi (second); and New Mexico (third.) Alabama comes in fourth, followed by West Virginia (fifth); South Carolina (sixth); Montana (seventh); Tennessee (eighth); Maine (ninth); and Indiana (10th).

Alabama ranked fourth highest for dependency among state residents and 14th for dependency from the state government.

Funny how a couple of those states have huge American Indian populations/reservations. I wonder if that counted towards the "federally dependent" calculations....

Interesting you mentioned 'condos'. I used to be in building. Before 2008 there were lots of single family homes being buiilt, many from masonry...brick or stone.

Now the only thing I see being built are condos and town homes...and mostly vinyl siding at that. There is a real shortage of true 'houses' on the market.

I reckon the idea is to give the 'serfs' as little as possible to keep them producing for the elite....who dont need to finance but write checks for their estates.

Your research is fake news. You need to understand how/why polls are done an why they are funded by certain groups. When you guys finish eating your own call. You have fucked up the left coast to Washington state an are now trying to fU the rest of the country, but you will meet your match when all the .gov funding goes away under Trump. Interesting to note there are many realtors around the country now that will not even deal with people leaving Ca. as they don't what that trash around them, I find that interesting myself, You?

Not to mention the weather in WY is too harsh, and wide open country for miles scares them.
