    Thats really disappointing.

I was in northern California about 10 years back and went thru a small coastal town named 'King Salmon'. stopped for supper and had the best, freshest, salmon Ive ever tasted. About 4 hours off the boat.

Theres nothing like King Salmon, slow grilled with a baked potato, grilled corn, and a good salad. Dont want to forget the wine..

Something like 97% of the shrimp we eat comes from Vietnam, Thailand, etc...

And a lot(like above 50%) of the Gulf shrimp we catch gets exported to Asia...

WTF is wrong with that picture...

We are definitely part of that "we" above. We buy our shrimp off the boats at Shem Creek. :)

When I heard that farmed shrimp in Asia was sometimes fed with human feces, that put me off even ordering shrimp in local restaurants unless I know the owner and know he only buys local Atlantic caught shrimp. Blessed to live in a shrimping community here in the Lowcountry.

They know better than to eat the shit they raise? I suspect they cut a ditch from the outhouse to the shrimp pond to feed them. Seriously.

Only shrimp I eat is wild gulf.

Edit: Sounds like my suspicions may me warranted.

That's where we launch the boat at, the salmon fishing as of late is a little sporadic but you are correct, nothing like catching one in the morning and grilling for supper.

My buddy has an indoor shrimp farm just outside of St. Louis, MO. Seeing where what we eat comes from was a big reason he got into it. He has 16 tanks which can produce about 100lbs per ever 2.5-3 months and he is always sold out. Still not enough cash for him and his brother to survive on yet they dont have 300-500k dollars in the bank to expand to a level where they could actually survive on it. Not enough quantity in their operation. 16 tanks costs almost the same as 50 tanks in operational costs.

Yes. Wild caught Pacific Salmon. I have to be a fucking lawyer, fisheries biologist and a surveyor to interpret the regs in my state. Our anadromous runs here are dwindling. Introduced species that prey on salmon smolts are protected with take limits on them. But sport fishing for salmon is the problem. Overpopulation of sea lions that float at the mouths of every anadromous stream here in the PNW lie in wait in a gauntlet to only eat the guts out of a salmon and discard the rest. But sport fisherman are the problem. The Koreans ,the Japanese and the fucking Chinese habitually enter American waters and steal fish. They throw out hundreds of miles of drift nets and strip mine the ocean. But sport fisherman are the problem. Wild caught pacific salmon from China? Maybe repacked in China or ??? Anybody that buys an eats that shit is a commie traitor.

The patent is for "pre portioned fish fillets"

Involves filleting a fish, then cutting the fillet into portions without cutting through the skin.

I guess the trick is don't cut through the skin.
