I have an older Remington 700 BDL VS in .222 Remington. The rifle is a tack driver but I have always had feeding problems with the factory internal magazine.
I was thinking of putting the barreled action in a chassis system such as the the Wiskey 3 and using AICS .223 mags. The closest thing to that I have on hand is a .223 AR mag. The .222 rounds seem to fit well in that even though the case dimentions are slightly smaller than the .223.
Does anyone know if the .222 rounds will feed reliably from an AICS style .223 mag?
Also, does the Remington factory .222 action have the same dimentions as other Remington short actions. I Know it has a smaller bolt face, but will it still work with an aftermarket chassis designed for standard Remington short action?
Thanks for the help!
