Rifle Scopes will a 2/3 generation IOR 3-18X likely fail ?

I've seen a few earlier versions of the FFP 3-18X up for sale, wondered what the odds were of it taking a dump when used on a 308 gas gun.

Is it not a question of "if" but "when" ? Or was it a very small percentage of the scopes ? Will IOR fix them ?

IOR warranties the scopes. Estimated failure rates to date based on our sales/return data is 10% Gen 2 and 5% Gen 3

I want one too but Jesus that's an awful record. I think I'll wait for a good deal on a gen 4.

Out of curiosity, what seemed to be the most common failures amongst the gen 1 through 3?

Scott knows more about these then I do. But my generation 3 held up on my 300 weatherby.

get it cheap and if something happens Im sure they'll upgrade it for you

The cup half full = 95% of the Gen 3 never had a hiccup to date..
