It will fit the chassis but unless the action is cut to use double stack magazines it won't work.

AW/AX mags are much better than AICS magazines.

Not with the double stack AX mag.

You'll have to have the action modified. The AW and AX rifles have a double set of feedramps (like an AR-15), whereas 700s have a single feedramp for use with the AICS mags. The AW/AX mags are double stack whereas the AICS are single stack/feed into the action.

If you're doing some research, you'll commonly see the modification referred as an AW magazine modification vs an AX magazine.
