Will BDL metal work in a Williams inlet

Will Remington 700 SA BDL bottom metal fit in a stock that has been inlet for Rem 700 SA with Williams bottom metal in a pinch?

If it's the new Williams, yes. If it's the older oberndorf-style williams......not sure. May fit, but may be gaps??

And I'm not sure when they changed.
