Will I really regret ....

Re: Will I really regret ....

For target shooting that rifle will be fine. I think worrying about resale value on a rifle that you haven't bought yet is a road to nowheresville. I wouldn't worry about resale value on a gun. That's just me.

Re: Will I really regret ....

I'm curious why you'd want a single vs a repeater? Its nice to have a few extra rounds.

Resale is a factor, but get what you want if you're going to keep it.

Only if the Zombies are rushing in upon you.
I have a friend who is an avid hand gun user. His basic scenario is that you need a 9mm because it holds 14 rounds and when the 14 Mez-kin banditos are invading his mobile home he has more rounds than a Colt 1911. Well, I'm figerin the Mez-kins have handguns with 14 round mags, too. so he's out gunned 14 to one.
Give me my Colt .45 ACP!!! and be done with it!!!

Re: Will I really regret ....

I know I often find myself single loading my repeaters. If I knew I was only going to use a gun in a traditional target capacity I would have no objections to a single shot. However, all of my rifles are multi purpose rigs so they are repeaters.

I'm with him. Unless your in a tactical match, you'll never NEED a mag, and I can think of very few instances where you'd be wishing you had one. And if it's a target gun...plenty of target shooters shoot single shots anyways so I wouldn't worry about resale. Might take a wee bit longer to sell, but there is always someone looking for something particular.

Re: Will I really regret ....

if you plan to sell it or recnofigure it into a less target oriented setup you can aways have the actio inletted for a mag.

I'm thinking ths through a build I am doing right now and I've changed my mind on the initial action order and I'm going to get it single shot for now.

The last time I actuaally put rounds in my mag for possible use and ot just to check fit was last hunting season,
