I have a McMillan A5 with a Remington Varmint inlet. Does anyone know if a the Remage system will fit? Or do I need to send the stock off for more clearancing?
The depends entirely on the contour of your new barrel that you are using in your remage which you didnt mention.
Wait, you were talking about barrel contours but maybe you are referring to the barrel nut? That may need to be sanded out a bit regardless of the barrel contour. Its easy to do and you can sand the channel out too. A bit of super coarse sand paper on a dowel makes quick work of it. A dremel even quicker if you dont get too heavy handed with it. Nothing you cant do yourself.
Doing a remage on my rem 700 30-06, 24” to 280 AI, 20” in magpul chassis. Christ that OEM barrel came off hard! Hoping the nut will fit but Dremel is standing by....
it'll be close. you have to imagine that the Remage barrel will have no shoulder, so the largest barrel diameter will be that of the threads. then, if the nut is smaller around than the original shoulder, you'll be fine. I have a tikka t3 with a prefit and it worked straight up, no fitting for the nut required.
