Today loaded some Winchester brass and Lapua brass with the same charge and primer and bullet and fired them. The Winchester didn’t have any soot on it but the Lapua was filthy. Is it because the Lapua is a thicker brass and doesn’t expand as quickly and seal in the chamber?

Lapua is cheaper than Winchester when one considers the number of times it can be reused. It's great brass. The accuracy of it is unexcelled.

Sorry guys! This morning I realized what happened. Normally I wipe the resizing lube off with acetone after loading but I was interrupted and forgot to clean the Lapua brass. Brain fart!
