being in a bad economy i thought it was a good idea to try out some new brass. ive always used lapua brass for my 308 and never had anything bad to say about it. i went to the store and bought two 50 round bags of winchester brass and went to work. ive gotta say it was a lot of work, the primer pockets took the longest time. i went to the range today with 100 rounds of win. and 50 rounds of lapua and i could not believe how bad the groups were at 100 yrds with the win. the only thing i did not do with the win. brass is neck turn it, maybe thats what made a difference with the groups. is anyone else using win. brass? have you had any success with it?

Re: winchester brass

Did you increase your charge with the Win brass, if not do so about 1 grain of powder, Lapua is thicker all around, it takes more powder to achieve the same speed with Winchester

What calculations can you make to transfer known accurate load data to different brass without going through a whole OCW/ladder test again. Or something that at least gets you in the ball park?
