wherever I may roam...
Finally picked up some Wolf Match target at the gun show two weeks ago(46 a box). Was able to get to the range Sat. WOW! I thought my Savage shot OK, tried Win. subs, Aguila subs, Rem.'s. All shot Ok, but after putting a box of these Wolf's through my FV, I'm a believer. I've always just written it all off as user error, but this stuff wears out a 5/8" shoot-n-see dot @ 50, and the bulls-eye @ 100. Will for sure be picking up some more of this ammo for shooting some of these online comps, and whatever else needs shootin'.

Re: Wolf ammo

A lot of people knock wolf ammo. But for the price and performance, I love the stuff.

I have a RRA Entry-Tact 5.56 and it eats the stuff up, but my buddies spikes tactical chokes 2-3 times per mag.

Re: Wolf ammo

I really enjoy shooting the .22LR Wolf Match Extra. They perform really well in my CZ, much better then the CCI's.

I have a stockpile of Federal Automatch that I need to try but I keep on going back to the Wolf instead.

Re: Wolf ammo

I am in the same boat as you. Shot it through my Savage MKII for the first time sat and was extremely impressed! Will be buying more for sure. Very consistant. The Wolf I was using had some sort of coating on it. Not sure what it was or if they are all like that, perhaps someone can shed some light on this. But, it shot lights out

Re: Wolf ammo

I had a buddy thrash his Bushmaster AR-15 with Wolf ammo. It jammed really bad. He told me it ended up doing some damage to his upper.
That's just an "I heard" story, though. My personal experience?
No problems with Wolf in my AK!

Re: Wolf ammo

The Wolf Match 22 ammo is a totally different animal from their steel cased centerfire ammo. It is made by SK Jagd which is a respected German manufacturer of high quality rimfire ammo.

Wolf Match Extra shoots as well as or better than everything else I have tried in my KID-barreled 10/22 and Lilja-barreled Quad. Match Target has a couple of fliers in every 10 round group.

I was told it is some kind of wax, it seems to have been on all the Wolf Match Extra I have shot. It does make handling them a bit hard after you have loaded up a 100 rounds or so. They start to slip out of my hand unless I make sure to wipe my hands off on a towel or something.
