Hello, I have an Impact 737 and I’m looking to replace my firing pin spring with a Wolff 28lb. When I took the original spring out there is a 1/2-3/4” length difference. The Wolff is longer.

Has anyone had any issues with this?

Typically rem700 actions run a 24# spring. I'd bet lone peak and impact are in the 18-22# range as light the bolt lift feels. What's your reasoning to go to 28#?

One of Erik Cortina’s videos a while back recommended 28lbs for Rem Short actions. I don’t recall if it was a blanket statement or specific to the Borden.

Maybe this is my problem?
This only has 300rds on it.

Looking back I think that was a recommendation for factory Remington 700
