A woman was beheaded by a sword-wielding assailant on a residential street in the Silicon Valley town of San Carlos, California, on Thursday in front of horrified onlookers. The man was later arrested, with police receiving counseling.

NBC Bay Area reported:

A woman’s head was severed with a sword in San Carlos Thursday, authorities with knowledge of the investigation told NBC Bay Area’s Investigative Unit.
The suspect, who returned to the scene, was arrested in connection with the woman’s death, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect was later identified as Jose Landaeta Solano.
Deputies near the intersection of Laurel Street and Magnolia Avenue were flagged down at about 11:50 a.m. by witnesses who reported an assault in progress, the sheriff’s office said. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the woman dead.
Local ABC News 7 added:

During a press conference, Lieutenant Eamon Allen said that the crime happened in the street outside the victim’s residence.
Lieutenant Allen said that the victim had two children, who did not witness the crime, and sources tell the I-Team’s Dan Noyes the kids were inside the house at the time.

We’re told the two were in an ongoing relationship but law enforcement sources say the victim got a temporary restraining order against the suspect, Hayward resident Jose Solano Landaeta, in April.
The San Francisco Chronicle noted that police and witnesses, some of whom were distraught, had been provided with counseling.

Police said Thursday evening that they were still working to recover the murder weapon.

Bet he's out on bail tomorrow morning.

Fuck california, especially all of their liberal-socialist cities. EVERYONE there who complains likely has voted democrat at least several times during their lives.

Sow the wind, reap the fucking whirlwind.

  • I was thinking 'religion of peace' when I saw the title...

This is WHY I keep a loaded long gun on hand at all times, and stored on a shelf in a room with windows so it serves as an ornamental piece too when it is not in use, and there are no young children at home who may accidentally gain hazardous access to the weapon.

Some psycho can be assaulting a child with a knife on the street below. You don't know what can happen one day. But I do know what I will NOT be doing: I will not be screaming and begging the attacker to "stop". The Spencer Model 1865 loaded with 240 grain Kaido conicals in the .45 Long Colt cases will be doing the talking.

How are aggravated battery, kidnapping, and second degree murder not detainable offenses? What exactly are their goals here - this will achieve "social equity"? A civilized society remains civilized only through enforced rules and laws. I think its time to divide the country into the law-abiding and non-law-abiding states.

The bill is the Illinois Pretrial Fairness Act. It was signed into law February 2021. The goal here is exactly that- to create social equity. The idea is that wealthy (white) people will be able to post money for bail and that poor (black) people are at a disadvantage because they will not have the means to post bail. That is felt to be inherently unfair. Hence the 'need' for these changes.

This received a lot of support from the legal community. A cynical person might think that the cash saved on bail might flow to the attorneys for legal services. But I can't imagine anyone being that self-serving........

Sounds like something Biden said to his 12 supporters at a rally. "Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids."

You mean to tell me that he didn't honor the restraining order she took out against him?
Who wants to be the first to tell him that we are a nation of laws and that laws must be obeyed? What is this world coming to?

His lack of obedience to the restraining order cost that woman her life.

Its unacceptable. It's almost like he didn't even care there was a restraining order out against him.

    The police required counseling?

    What the fuck...

No wonder the crooks are ruling the streets if that's what kind of pussies they have responding to beheadings.

Holy crap... If you can't go to a beheading while eating a chili-dog and a handful of Twizzlers, you are in the wrong profession.

Simple solution. If you’re poor don’t commit crime.

If you are breaking the law, be ware of the punishment. A lawyer and bail money is advisable

It would be one thing to WITNESS a beheading, that could be very traumatic especially if you know the person and it wasn’t swift.

But how soft are these officers who need counseling just because they discovered the aftermath? I swear our whole society is a bunch of candy-assed pansies.

The counseling was likely mandated. That way, the agency can say they addressed it, if the LEO claims PTSD, or similar.
