Yea, well I was at the first Woodstock. I'm 72 and thought it would be neat to take my 23 year old son for something to remember since dear old Dad is battling cancer..
Then I checked into it and found out it won't be at the original Bethel NY site but at the Watkins Glen racetrack. What?
Then I checked the prices. WOW! When I went way back in 69 a three day pass was $18 and hardly anyone had to pay anyway. Now it's $865-$2100 plus $78 bucks a day parking!!!!!! WTF!
I suppose we won't be going because I can't afford those prices.
I also looked at the list of performers. Not my kind of Rock in Roll. I guess I'm just to fucking old.

Wow I just looked up the lineup, what a joke. Woodstock 99 was packed with modern rock bands, this is atrocious.

And THAT was a fuckaree too because they didn't allow food or drinks.... Because Pepsi and Taco Bell sponsored it. I didn't go but goddamn I've got some stories that just aren't suitable here. Started with these two girls from KY wanting to trade for tickets. How they wound up in my bedroom I'll never know, because I didn't have any tickets.

$865-$2100... $78 per day parking... To hear absolutely talentless teenagers play band? I'd rather listen to my dog howl along to Xena the Social Justice Warrior-Princess moan about gun control. Wow. $2100.

You oughta take him to Nashville instead. They'll have a music fest downtown where like 600+ bands will play on barges that float down the river, one at a time. Guys walk around with keg backpacks and fill your cup, don't even have to get up. Then you got 2nd Ave. right behind you. And it's all FREE and you can sleep in a bed in a hotel and not get raped on the price. Beer was cheap too. Goes on all week I think. Look it up. I promise it'll be a great time for both of you.

I went to a biker-esque "Woodstock" in the 90's. Lots of bikers were there, maybe half? Somewhere in South TN N. of Huntsville AL around Pulaski. 3 days, live bands, tons of beer, a tattoo pavillon with professional artists, bring a tent. There was a rock quarry to swim in with an island and canoes and shit. I went with these two girls and had a blast. Sheriff showed up to shut it down, owner had all these election signs he piled up and burned. Kicked 'em off the property. All they could do was try and arrest drunks that left and the troublemakers that got kicked out and prevent more kegs from arriving (which wasn't a problem, trust me). Turns out people were complaining about the noise from MILES away! That was a party I'll never forget and I have no idea where it was or who threw it. One of the girls had a stepdad who was friends with the owner. To be 16-18 again...
