I was listening to this in the truck yesterday. What an amazing documentary on how the mass death in the Civil War changed... the way we deal with our soldiers and their sacrifices.

Brilliantly put together. Not sure if Ken Burns was involved... but it seems to have his fingerprints on the style, at least.

This just came across my transom and reflects the mores described in the above documentary.

Note that those who read my tome last fall about motorcycling the battlefields of Europe will remember my visits to the American Cemeteries and how impressed I was with the efforts that the Battlefield Monuments Commission puts in to every missing or killed-soldier. Well, here is a great example of that.

One of the best things I've read all week!

In case link below is not working, copy and paste this: http://www.stripes.com/news/veteran...ans-wwii-ace-finds-rest-1.458031#.WMNkkPnytEZ

Excellent presentation, really enjoyed it. Living in central Virginia and surrounded by battlefields, I am a civil war buff and avid relic hunter.
