Hey are the Wotac 4x14 Scopes worth having? I'm putting together a low budget long range rifle starting with a Savage 12 FV in 243 win. Thanks

There were quite a few threads on the WOTAC awhile back but, the chatter seems to have died down. Why is that?

because all the low end optics buyers have ADD.
A new Vortex or Falcon Menace or Super Sniper or something came out and they all sold their WOTACS to buy them. 6 months later they will all sell that scope for a brand X
Thats why they don't save up money and buy Nightforce, USO, S&B, etc...
Anyone who saves for 6 or 9 months and puts down decent money on a top shelf piece of glass will never go back, they might sell their rifle but the glass is staying with them.

I bought a Gen 5 about 10 months ago and have no plans to sell it. If I do upgrade, it's because I'd like more magnification. The glass is very good. Much better than some name Brand glass. I wouldn't put it in the same category as NF but, for the money, it is awesome. I replaced my 3x9 Leupold with the Wotac and I 'd do it again! The L is now on my AR. Maybe I'm lucky or got a good one but, my Wotac flat out works. I have no problem hitting targets from 50 to 600 yards. My first to time at 500, I manage a group under 3".

I have 5 WOTAC's from the Gen 3 to the Gen 5 all work great. A Friend has a NF scope and is always telling me how good it is so I looked through it and everything had a purple tint my WOTAC clear and the color things should be. Guess my old eyes are just as happy with a 300 dollar scope as a 1400 dollar one. So take it for what it's worth get the WOTAC see how you like it be better then spending 1400 and fining out you don't like it.

I am considering one of these also. I have heard great things about his customer service. However, dealing with his customer service is a problem I hope not to have if I purchase one. I am curious as to how these hold up for extended periods of time. Anyone care to chime in on how long their WOTAC has been running strong?

Sounds good. I wish Matt's website was a little more informative with the specs. How much vertical travel do they have? I have heard 80 but some have up to 100.

Mine has 80 I believe. The newer models might have 100. Mount a 20 MOA base and you have all the travel you need.
And he does need to improve his website.

I had one, gen 4, and had a problem that Matt sent me a gen 5 right away...great scope and customer service..I loooked around for an upgrade,higher mag., and the only one that I upgraded to was a NF NXS 8-32...for me anything in the middle or above was not worth my money. My shooting partner bought th Wotac and loves it too. Works great and Matt is a man of his word and great to talk to.
