I loaded up 35 rounds of 6GT this morning and headed to the range.

The brass is Virgin Hornady, and I'm using CCI 450s all under a 107SMK.

I didn't touch the brass. Opened the package, primed, charged, seated, shoot.

Charges started at 29.5g, which is extremely slow, and in half grain increments went up to 31.5, which is also slow. (These charges ranged from 2449fps up to 2650fps)

The reason for the low charge weights is I couldn't find anything or anyone who was using Re15 in the GT so I was in unchartered territory.

I fired off 27 rounds without issue.

    Then there was round 28.

When I tried to close the bolt on this round, it felt stiff.

I pushed a little harder on the bolt and it did eventually close, but with a good amount of resistance.

Hesitant to shoot it, I opened the bolt and extracted the round.

Initially I thought I was jamming the lands with a long round, but no.

I found a small wrinkle in the shoulder of the case.

I've never seen anything like this.

    Any ideas?

I shot the remaining eight rounds without issue.

I did measure to the datum of the unfired round and it was within .002" of the other, unfired brass.

Thats an odd one for sure. Usually a dent in the case I would guess that a gob of lube or other foreign object made it in the die while sizing but thats an extreme crease. Was that the last one you sized? You might check inside your die.

It’s been mentioned above, it’s a poorly drawn case. It starts out wide open straight cylinder and then the shoulder gets angled down into the neck area. Instead of angling smoothly it crinkled. Just what happens sometimes, that’s why there’s usually 101 in a bag.

Wow you did not notice that while, priming, powderen it, or seating a bullet? What kind of ammo inspection do you do after loading

    Can't you read?

"I didn't touch the brass. Opened the package, primed, charged, seated, shoot.". 😂😂

But actually I look at all the cases at least twice. Once when priming and once when seating.
