Gunsmithing WTF??? DPMS LR308

I just shot 20 rounds out of my DPMS 308. Then about a hour later I let someone shoot another 20. Well it jammed and wouldn't extract. So I took it back to the shop and barely had to tap on it with a cleaning rod to get it out. put a live round in it and sent the bolt foreward and pulled it back several times. It wouldnt extract. Pulled it appart and the extractor is fubar. I have had the gin about 3 weeks. Had about 300 rounds down it.

WTF? Will DPMS cover it?

As long as you "weren't shooting reloads", I don't know why they wouldn't.

What looked wrong with the extractor? Broken? or mfg'd wrong? Pics may help with diagnosing it?

There is no more ledge/claw to it. It just cant grip the brass anymore. I looked into a new extractor... $40??? WTF that is mesed up. Id rather carve it out of steel using a grinder than pay that much.

Had the extractor claw brake on mine. Called dpms and the guy I talked to said some of the claws were treated to hard and sent me another one free of charge. Now this was 4 years ago but DPMS has always been GTG on customer service for me.

DPMS is GTG, give them a call they will hook you up.
