This rifle started life as a 187 series Ruger Ranch Rifle, and was given "the works" by Accuracy Rifle Systems, a shop out of Odessa Texas that closed around 2003 due to the owner's sudden passing. At the time they were one of two places doing extensive custom work to Ruger Minis, the other being Accuracy Systems in CO (still in business).

This rifle has had the following work done to it:

  • Rebarreled with 23" Lothar-Walther heavy barrel (stamped with the ARS maker's mark)
  • Gas block and op-rod modified to work with new, heavier profile barrel
  • Trigger job - the trigger breaks at 3lb and is one of the cleanest triggers I've felt on a Mini, though it would benefit from an overtravel stop
  • Parkerized finish on barrel, action, bolt, gas block, op-rod, etc. including a matching set of ruger rings.
  • Glass bedded into a Bell & Carlson stock (these stocks are no longer listed on the B&C website and so appear to be out of production).

Any idea on the twist rate? Given its age probably a 1:9 but figured I would ask.
