I purchased this rifle to use as a .223 trainer rifle for my AI AT. I sold the AT as so it's time for the savage to go! It was a brand new old stock rifle that is no longer produced with the venerable Choate Varmint Chassis/Stock. I butchered up the grip and reprofiled utilizing marine tex to help mimick the grip angle of an AI. It's not perfect--but it's dang close. And it was comfortable enough in that I could still drive tacks with this thing!
Specs:
-Savage Model 10 .223 (unsure of exact product #...maybe the 10FPLE2A)
-Choate Varmint Stock w/ Aluminum Bedding Block. Grip reprofiled to closer match AIAT/AX profile.
-4+1 (or 5+1?) internal blind mag
-Accutrigger tuned to a crisp 2.5-3#
-20" Heavy Barrel
-1-9" Twist Rate
-Muzzle Threaded 1/2x28 with thread cap
-Nightforce 20moa rail
-Round Count- +-65rnds. I am the original owner
-Performance was right at .5moa at 100yds with cheaper 69smk factory ammo. Never got around to handloading for this one!
