I'm actually shopping for a 686+ with the unfluted cylinder and a 3" barrel. Have you shot it much? How do you like it? What spring kit are you talking about? I didn't know Wilson Combat made revolver springs.

I have the same S&W 686+ with a Wilson spring kit and it shoots great. I have the Wilson kits in several other S&W's. It is amazing what a difference the spring kits make. The spring kits for J & K frame Smiths are only about $12-15.

Wilson combat has a spring kit that has a return spring and a reduced power hammer spring. As far as the pistol goes, I love it I just need a bear gun. As far as the unfluted cylinder goes, these models are heavy, I’d hate to add more weight to one.

I'm glad to know that about the Wilson springs. I feel ya on the weight. I just really like the look of an unfluted cylinder. I've got a Redhawk 44 mag with a 5.5" barrel. I love it for a bear gun. I carry either that or a Dan Wesson bruin 6" 10mm. Those are pretty potent for bears too. I ran into a grizzly on a black bear hunt a few weeks back. Fortunately no shots were taken, but I was pretty nervous.
