Trying to dial in a new project. It’s a Tikka .338 win mag and decided to try the 230 grain ELD-X. So far I found a node at 71 gr. of H4350 moving 2850 FPS, but after group testing at various seating depths, that didn’t yield great results. Tried RL19 at 74 grains and it may show some promise. I need to ladder test with RL19 and try and refine that load. Seems like the ELD-X do well seated 0.13” off the lands and do well .02” off the lands.

I may try some IMR4350 and H4831, but I’d also like to see if some other bullets work better.

I have a bunch of 200 grain Nosler Accubonds to trade, but if anyone has some 225 Accubonds or Barnes TTSX in 225 I’d like to buy some or trade some of my 200 grain accubonds.

Let me know if you have some of the 225 Barnes or Accubonds to sell or trade. Don’t need a ton, maybe 20 of each. Figured I’d try here before buying a bunch of boxes to test.

Thanks!

I think I have several boxes of each. I will check and get back to you this evening.

Awesome! Thanks. If anyone reading this has had good luck with 230 gr eld-x in a .338 Winny, let me know. I picked up some IMR 4350 to test, but that may be a futile effort since H4350 was a bust. Good speed and ES with H4350 at the 71 gr node, but bad groups. I read a lot of guys using IMR4350 so decided to try it, but it’s pretty similar to H4350 so likely a waste of time. Ya never know though!
