[sheepish expression] Well, I screwed up and got ahead of myself so I'm asking for help here with my Rem. 700 trigger... [/sheepish expression]

Basically, I got ahead of myself and punched out the two pins holding the X-Mark Pro trigger onto my Rem.700 before looking really thoroughly at it and maybe even taking a picture or two so now I need help on how to reassemble the dang thing. I have all the parts but if someone has an exploded diagram of where the parts shown in the photo go, especially the black, "blade-looking" part that I suppose is the bolt stop and the wire spring with a coil in the middle and a "hook" portion on each end, I'd appreciate it. While some folks might say "just get a Timney/Jewell/etc... drop-in and be done with it", I'd rather run this trigger for a while since it's workable, at least, if not completely ideal.

Re: X-Mark Pro reassembly?

Yeah I did that too when I first took my Rem 700 trigger apart.

I dont have a way to show you but its actually pretty simple to put back together.

Look for a diagram on google. It might show you what you need to do. Someone else might have a picture to make it easy on you. Good luck

Re: X-Mark Pro reassembly?

I just did this too, it really isn't a big deal to put back together. The spring only will fit one way, the long end of the spring goes under the bolt release arm, the coil goes between the arm and reciever(towards the action centerline0, and the short end goes behind the trigger in the channel. The bolt release arm goes in just like it sits in your pic. If that doesn't make sense after a few minutes of looking at it PM me I can send a copy of the Timney instructions to you, they show how to put it back together if it came too far apart.

Re: X-Mark Pro reassembly?

Thanks, that should help. I'm going to fiddle with it tonight when I get home (can learn better when I have actual parts-in-hand to manipulate) since this sounds like most any trigger group--with my Ruger SA's, the first time was a mess and took hours but now I can disassemble/reassemble with quickness.

Re: X-Mark Pro reassembly?

Here's a screen capture off of the Brownells DIY Timney 510 (damn all of you who are making me think that's a better way to go...

) and hopefully it helps other folks who might be in my predicament...

Re: X-Mark Pro reassembly?

FWIW, I just said "to hell with it" and a 2.5 lb-pull Timney 510 is on the way...

I figured that since my rifle is on its way back from Mark @ Short Action Customs, I didn't want to put a crappy OEM trigger back into a mo' betta' rifle so a small upgrade was in order.

Re: X-Mark Pro reassembly?

Ha, I did the same thing, lucky i saw this thread after I spent 20 mins trying to figure it out. It was easy but I was pissed to it equals out
