Gunsmithing Yo Dave Spring...I have it, should I install it?

I ordered the Yo Dave trigger spring for my Tikka Tac A1 and got it in the mail a couple days ago. My dilemma is this, I'm getting far better results than I have a right to expect with this rifle already and don't want to muck things up. I'm getting consistent .4 MOA groups on paper at 100 and ringing all the steel I want out to 750 (max range at my place).

So, if I go about removing the action from the chassis, digging around in the innards, etc. do I risk messing with whatever voodoo I have going on in there? Just hold onto it until I need to tear the rifle down for some other purpose?

I can only speak from my own experience but have never noticed any ill effects from removing an action from a chassis or bedded stock and then reinstalling it.
Unless you leave an action screw loose or torque to a different spec you shouldn't notice any difference.
If it's shooting at or better than your expectations then a lighter trigger pull might give you a slight improvement and since you all ready have the spring kit might as well find out.

I had the same experience with my TAC A1 and I decided to leave it alone. I lowered trigger weight with factory spring as low as I liked and I've had no reason to mess with it. There is always a slight risk in mucking something up, but attention to detail and torque specs should have it shooting the same.

Why did you order the spring?

I'm pretty happy w/ my TacA1 2 stage trigger as is. But I just ordered one for my T1x as it's a .22 and I'd like an even lighter break than I'm Currently getting.

I feel your dilemma though and if it were me, I'd leave it alone unless you just hate the break on the trigger now.
