Anyone run the Young Mfg chromed 308AR carriers? I read about them on another forum and decided to order one today. I got tired of waiting for SI Defense to get theirs out. Ran about $200 shipped.

I'll be interested in hearing your report on the Young 308 carrier when it arrives. I knew this was a project in the works for Young, but I didn't realize they were already being rolled out.
Are they doing the .308 bolts now too or was that just for the carrier? If not, where are you sourcing your bolt since they have been a pain to find at times too?

i got one on hand and it looks like its finely machined. its going on a ma-ten build. it feels lighter than dpms' phosphated carrier. i'm at work now, i can post pics later if you'd like.

my carrier came within a week. dan of ym told me a complete bcg is in the works. i ordered a chrome bolt from jp.
forgot to mention that the carriers for 308 from ym uses a standard ar15 firing pin retainer pin. one from 308 will not work. ym also does not recommend staking their gas keys.

Thanks for the pictures dlxcupid, I just now bought one of these. Having some pictures is nice, as they haven't added the .308 bolt carrier to their website yet. Can't wait to get it and complete my own MA-TEN build.

Got mine today from the Brown truck. DLXcupid was right, a 308 firing pin retainer pin is too wide for this. Will have to order a standard ar15 firing pin retainer pin.

I have sold several and they are nice kit. I will likely use them in any future 308 builds. They do not have a bolt as of yet but they work great with the JP enhanced bolt. Pricing is very good also.

I was at a local AR builders shop a couple of months back and he had one on the shelf for a customers build where the forward assist serrations didn't line up with the forward assist pawl, thus no assist. Can anyone comment on this from their own experience? I don't like forward assists in general, but the upper I have has it, so I would rather make it functional than plug it.

Mine has been running great. I have no problems with the FA at all. If I get lazy and don't let the carrier slam in, I'll have to hit the FA. But it works perfectly when I have to. I'm running the carrier in an SI Defense GenIII upper, Krieger M110 barrel 20"/308win. And I just threw a plain old DPMS bolt in it that was mated with the barrel.
