oops...

The nation's top voting machine maker has admitted in a letter to a federal lawmaker that the company installed remote-access software on election-management systems it sold over a period of six years, raising questions about the security of those systems and the integrity of elections that were conducted with them.
In a letter sent to Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) in April and obtained recently by Motherboard, Election Systems and Software acknowledged that it had "provided pcAnywhere remote connection software … to a small number of customers between 2000 and 2006," which was installed on the election-management system ES&S sold them.

Yea, bring back the paper ballots. Why not procedurally generated QR codes? Or better yet use blockchain technology to granularly track voting of everyone who does transactions with VoteCoin. Everybody gets one coin worth nothing and you fill out your voting preferences when you transact the coin (either get or send to somewhere) The tech is out there or we can K.I.S.S.

The problem with paper ballots is the time it takes to count them.
No one wants to wait.
I must admit to a certain amount of satisfaction during the last election as the lame stream media slowly came to the conclusion that their world was collapsing

I would have thought the last election would’ve been the ideal time for these pukes to pull out all the stops and truly rig the election. Think about it. Every single news network, newspaper, celebrity, politician, company, and organization with exception of about 1 in each category was against this guy. The fact he won was a true test to the system showing that it isn’t entirely broken just yet.

You can have both. A paper ballot counted optically transmitted electronically. Any questions? Then count them by hand. Also do some random audits. Sounds easy, if fair is your desire.

It’s never about fair. It’s always about winning without getting caught cheating.

That's why they insisted on electronic only with no paper trail, once you hack the machines or change the resulting spreadsheet, who is going to be able to easily prove otherwise?

What they need to do is have it electronic, but it spits out a printout as well that the person can see before approving everything, then the paper automatically goes to collection bin, and those are always taken and processed on other equipment to verify before the election results are validated.
(And no, you can't give people their own receipt to take home or let them take pictures of it).
