I have a ZPAP M70 that will run fmj just fine but when I run hp, 3 or 4 rounds will run fine and then one will hit the side of the chamber and get hung up. I’ve seen threads about this and about filing the bottom of the chamber, but in my rifle the rounds are hitting all around the chamber. Not just the bottom but on the sides and the top too. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern of where they hit, just randomly all around the chamber. Any ideas?

Have you tried a variety of mags ?

Is the bolt face smooth ? ... allowing the rounds to center into the bolt while feeding ?

Can you post a pic of the feed area ?

I had the same problem on my Century M70 u/f. I got it to run by welding up the magazine catch so it was about 1/10" longer.
