Looking for opinions on the new V4 line.

How do they compare to the original Conquest MC in terms of Optical Quality? That's my main concern.

I run a 6.5-20 mil dot Conquest and love it. But am looking at the V4 6-24 illuminated moa.

Thanks!

The original Conquest series was made for Zeiss by Meopta with optics from the Czech Republic. The V4 is made in Japan. I think they are very close, however, coatings have improved over the last 10 years since your Conquest was made. I'd say side by side they'd be very comparable. I think the base optic of the Conquest may be superior but the coating on the V4 would be better

Thanks Doug! I really appreciate it. I bought my Conquest from your shop, I value your opinion.

I just don't want a downgrade in optics.

How's the eyebox on it? Forgiving like the original conquest? Sorry for all the questions, I'm in the market and there's no local dealer with any on display.

What do you guys think would be the best scope for around $1,100 that has:

Zeiss Conquest level optical quality or better
Decent eyebox. Euro style fast focus eye piece a plus.
Illuminated etched reticle
MOA Reticle
Zero Stop
Repeatable and accurate tracking,
Decent durabiity (doesn't have to be mil-spec grade) - and a decent warranty.

Zoom factor, zoom range, objective size, weight are not important considerations...

If there's better, I'm all ears. My wallet is ready!

I have tested the 3-12x56. Mechanically they do look ok. Positive was that you really can feel the clicks, but their optics are really bad. Not what they used to be in the past. I think they are selling-out their good reputation from the past with this scope line. I would look on antoher scope brand or invest more money in a real Zeiss scope

A friend just got a 6-24 model with the moa reticle. I like the 20 moa turret and the zero stop is nice but side by side with our shv's the glass is not as clear.

Thanks for the first hand experience. I don't know how the SHV compares to the original NXS glasswise, but the original Conquest compared very well to the NXS when I did side-by-side comparisons. That tells me the V4 is a step down in glass.
