Good glass as always when it comes to zeiss, but I don't think diarange is worth the money. It's cool with the rangefinder but to be honest, I like the victory 6-24x56 better. I prefer a plain rangefinder combined with a good scope.

Why do you feel that way? I thought the Diarange would be the same as a "Victory" scope, just with a LRF built in.

As I said, No complains about the quality or the glass but I just don't like the concept with the built in LRF. And it's ugly! Try one if you like it, I did try, and I don't like it, sorry!
I've got a couple of zeiss, one diavari 6-24x56, and one 1,1-4x24 varipoint for those driven hunts and one 1,5-6x42 varipont mounted on my sako 375H&H magnum. I will never buy a diarange but thats my opinion.

I always worred about the electronics going bad in the scope. I can replace a seperate rangefinder easy enough...

I looked at one at the store and did not like the controls. I think it is a great concept/ theory. But in practical term, I would be concerned about recoil induced failures. I also would be concerned about durability of the electronics. Quality glass lasts a lifetime. I don't have any 20+ year old electronic items that work well, if at all.

Interesting. If the LRF were to fail at some point, the scope would then be rendered inoperable?

No the scope will still do great, however I must side with my fellow countryman here,
they are a bit clunky and the ergonimics are not that great, however, a trained operator and one of them scopes is a deadly thing for all sorts of less than 800 meters shots, I guess the elevation is panned out at about that range with the scope,
unless one shoots with the Z-reticles.
I would love to have one on a AR.
